The Bolshoi Theatre was established 240 years ago and early on became Russia’s main national theatre, a bearer of Russian music culture. Today, the Bolshoi is a centre of world music culture, combining the strength of its heritage with the global demands of the twenty-first century. The orchestra, and soloists present an operatic concert in two parts, one dedicated to the European repertoire and the other to the Russian, led by conductor Philipp Chizhevsky. A host of leading soloists from the Bolshoi Opera will perform masterpieces from the two glorious repertoires.
