Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Tourism has released a new video promoting the Khareef season in an attempt to invite more tourists to experience what is a unique occurrence in the Middle East.

Having officially begun on 22 June, the Khareef season, which takes place in Oman’s Dhofar Governorate, is characterised by refreshing rains, cool winds and a mist that covers the entire landscape and turns the Dhofar green, while the rest of the Middle East experiences peak summer conditions.

In the video, which it titled ‘Dhofar Love Summer Again’, the characteristics that make Oman’s southern region unique during this time are shown, such as the emerald landscapes, endless waterfalls, a perpetual, pleasant drizzle, rolling green hills and valleys, and greenery as far as the eye can see.
