100 OMANI YOUTHS REMOVE TONNES OF RUBBISH FROM AL SAWADI BEACH

MUSCAT –

A clean-up campaign with the participation of 100 Omani youths was held at the Al Sawadi beach recently.

Hussain Issa al Fairuz, head of Al Fairuz 4×4 vehicle team said, “The campaign was conducted at the Al Sawadi beach in the wilayat of Barka in South Batinah.”

The campaign which started at 3.30pm continued till 6pm. As many as 100 youths in love with 4WDs along with children participated in this campaign.

Fairuz added, “In this campaign, our team removed one and a half tonnes of rubbish from the beach. Our team besides cleaning also wanted to spread environmental awareness and promote domestic tourism. We aim to instill values of cleanliness and preservation among the members of the society.

“We organise many beach clean-up campaigns and appeal to all members of the community to cooperate with us and make Oman’s beaches free of all rubbish.”
