HOLIDAY CROWD AT POPULAR DESTINATIONS PROVIDES A FILLIP TO LOCAL TOURISM

MUSCAT –

Boosting local tourism, over 14,000 have visited popular tourist destinations during the Isra’a Wal Miraj holiday.

As per the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) Ras al Jinz Turtle Reserve, Masirah Island Resort, Wadi Bani Khalid and several forts and castles were the most-visited destinations during the break.

The Scientific Centre at Ras al Jinz Turtle Reserve in South Sharqiyah Governorate received 1,382 visitors.

According to official figures, Wadi Bani Khalid received a total of 9,775 visitors, while Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Sahab received 1,000 visitors on the first day of the holiday.

The wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid in North Sharqiyah witnessed increased tourist inflow during the Isra’a Wal Miraj holiday as people took advantage of pleasant weather. Around 2,100 people visited Nakhal Fort in South Batinah.

Ras al Hadd village in Sur, South Sharqiyah, too witnessed significant tourist activity during the holiday, with hotels reporting high occupancy rates.

The occupancy level at Masirah Island Resort was 100 per cent, during the holiday.
