MUSCAT –

Voluntary team, Basmet Kher, organised a clean-up campaign at the Seeb beach recently. Over 150 people participated in the campaign.

Titled, ‘Our beaches are beautiful in summer’, the campaign also included a number of entertainment activities.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Samira al Mahrouqi, head of Basmet Kher, said, “In addition to the clean-up, the campaign also saw activities such as dog shows, face painting and skating. The campaign was aimed at increasing awareness on preservation of the environment and beaches in particular. This is the second time we are conducting such a campaign.”

Founded in 2017, Basmet Kher is a 30-member team, said Samira. The team aims at spreading awareness on the importance of voluntary work for the society, especially cleaning beaches and preserving the environment, she said.

“I thank the members and Seeb municipality for participating in the campaign. We will continue with such campaigns because our beaches are among the most beautiful in the world,” said Samira.
